A Rich Legacy of Leadership and Innovation
With over 27 years of industry experience, James is built a reputation for his expertise with roles starting in the field and progressing to leadership roles within the construction and real estate sectors. His ability to collaborate, problem solve and commitment to quality, cost-efficiency, and timely delivery has been the cornerstone of many successful high-profile and complex projects including the Northwestern Mutual Tower & Commons, the Milwaukee Bucks Arena Franks Production Music Venue.
James’s journey in the industry is defined by his exceptional leadership and unwavering passion for community-focused development. He began his career as a apprentice in the facilities department at Milwaukee Public Schools. He then received an office internship and at a larger GC and quickly advanced through various supervisory and project management roles. There, he honed his expertise in overseeing complex projects. Recognizing the market dynamics during The Great Recession, James leveraged his experience and co-founded JCP Construction with his brothers, Jalin and Clifton. Together, they leveraged their relationships and market experience into a construction firm with over $30M in revenue and over 45 staff members in the field and office.
Education and Strategic Insight
A graduate of UW-Milwaukee with a BBA in Finance, and Marquette University’s ACRE (Commercial Real Estate) program, James combines his educational background with practical insights to guide Pheldyn Capital’s strategic direction. His extensive experience spans a diverse range of projects and industries, underscoring his adeptness at navigating complex capital stacks.
Commitment to Community and Beyond
James’s dedication to community extends beyond his professional endeavors. He actively contributes to various boards, including the Chair of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. Bid #8, Board of Trustee for The Milwaukee Rep, and Board member of the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce (MMAC), National Associate of Minority Contractors (NMAC) among others. His participation reflects his belief in fostering positive change through strategic partnerships and collaborative efforts.
